Separate the payment from the notification
Interac explains that money travels through secure payment networks; email or text carries the notification and deposit instructions, not the money itself. Verify unexpected messages through another channel and follow your financial institution's security guidance.
DwellTrack does not connect to your bank or move funds. It parses supported Interac notification emails forwarded to your DwellTrack inbox and proposes a match against your existing tenant and lease records for review.
A repeatable rent-day workflow
- Confirm the payment in your financial institution before treating it as received.
- Verify the sender and amount against the tenant's current charge.
- Review DwellTrack's proposed match or enter the payment manually.
- Resolve partial, duplicate, late, or unmatched payments instead of forcing a match.
- Generate a receipt from the confirmed payment record when needed.
Protect the audit trail
Keep the original notification, recorded amount, received date, tenant/lease link, and any correction history. A memo or security-answer phrase is not a reliable substitute for a reconciled ledger.
Only forward supported payment notifications to the dedicated DwellTrack address. Never forward online-banking credentials, one-time codes, or unrelated financial messages.
